Liz
It was a cool Sunday morning; it had rained the night before. Sitting alone on her bed, she felt colder than it really was without him there. Her eyes were red and puffy; crying all night does that to a person.
She got up.
At least she did not have to make her bed that day.
Adam
He got out of the car parked near the suburbs. He had driven far from the city during the night, just to get away; he didn't know where to go. As he stood up and stretched himself he painfully noticed how sore he was from sleeping in the car. He remained still for a few minutes.
'I should go back'.
He sat back in and started the car.
Liz
Closing the refrigerator, she decided to eat outside. It feels strange waking up alone. The silence was unnerving; she could not stand it any longer, she had to go out. Maybe have breakfast at the café close by. After checking her wallet though, she decided to withdraw some cash first.
Adam
He was thinking about last night, regretting what he had said and done. Although he did not know how it could go back to the way it was, he drove back towards her.
His stomach rumbled, bringing him back to reality.
'Need something to eat'.
He stopped in front of an ATM vestibule, needing money to pay for breakfast, of course.
Liz
'Oh great, a line' she cursed to herself when she went inside the ATM vestibule. But she was not aware of her purse being open.
Adam
Just as he stepped inside, he noticed the woman at the back of the line dropped her wallet.
He picked it up.
Tapped her on the shoulder.
'Excuse me miss, you dropped your wallet'
Liz
She's turned around as a seemingly familiar voice sounded behind her.
She looked at the man standing behind her, but did not recognize him.
He was a stranger.
'Thank you. My name is Elizabeth.'
She smiled at him.
Adam
'Come on, take a chance.' he thought to himself 'It's time for a change.'
'I'm Adam' he answered with a smile.
'By any chance, would you want to get a cup of coffee with me later?'
Liz
'Why not?'
